This design is often called the sailors knot or lovers knot. The celtic braid can be seen as interwoven infinity symbols representing the lives of two people joined together as one for eternity. I make each celtic braid ring to order from the finest hardwood. This ring is constructed from three layers of wood, each laid across the grain of the preceding layer, increasing the ring's durability threefold. The celtic braid design is carved into surface of the ring, which is then polished with a mixture of natural oils and beeswax.
