I make each full size comb by hand from cocobolo, believed by most to be the world's most beautiful hardwood. In addition to its striking appearance, cocobolo has other advantages. Due to its high proportion of resin, it is naturally water resistant, and it is among the hardest and most durable of any wood.

I purchase my cocobolo from a company that operates its own mill in Southern Mexico. Its wood is purchased from family owned plantations and is guaranteed by the Mexican Department of Agriculture to be sustainably grown.

Unlike plastic combs, wooden combs do not produce static electricity. Unfortunately, most wooden combs these days are mass produced in overseas sweatshop factories. The inferior grade wood can become rough under normal use and may snag and damage your hair.
